The Secretary of State is generally regarded as the third highest ranking official in Soundland's government and is fourth in line for succession of the president. They are responsible for overseeing the country's foreign affairs and managing relations with other nations. The Secretary of State serves as the primary advisor to the president on matters related to foreign policy, is the head of the State Department and along with ambassadors and diplomats, is responsible for heading representing Soundland in international negotiations, meetings, and other diplomatic functions.

As the Secretary of the Department of State, they are charged with overseeing Departmental administration, advancing Soundland's foreign policy goals, which incudes the promotion of Soundland's interests and values overseas. They manage Soundland's embassies and consulates around the world, which serve as a point of contact for both governments and overseas citizens.
